Next Steps
Now that you know what courses are offered, it’s time to register. As a current UALR student you will need to get advised as to what you should take next. After that advising appointment, here are the next steps to getting enrolled in a summer class - and being that much closer to graduation.
- Login to BOSS; go to http://boss.ualr.edu/ and click “Enter Secure Area.” Enter your student ID (T-number) and 6-digit PIN.
- Having trouble? Click Forgot PIN or call Records and Registration at 569.3110. They might need to see a photo ID to reset your PIN.
- Check out the “Important Dates” for registration and payment deadlines, click “Click here to continue…” when finished.
- Choose “Student Services & Financial Aid” then “Registration.”
- Check for any holds or barriers to registration with “Check Your Registration Status.” This page shows you what days/times you may register, as well as whether or not you have any holds. If have holds, scroll to the bottom and click “View Holds.”
- Types of holds you may encounter and who to contact about them:
Hold Office Phone Admit Provisional Admissions & Financial Aid 569.3127 Advising Flag Academic Advising 569.3386 Cashier Hold Cashier’s Office 569.3043 Graduate School Graduate School 569.3206 Library Overdue Book Ottenheimer Library 569.3123 Transfer Hold Records & Registration 569.3110
- Types of holds you may encounter and who to contact about them:
- When you are cleared to register, go back to the “Registration” page and choose “Register/Search for Classes—Class Schedule.”
- First select the term, “2007 Summer,” and hit “Submit”
- Use these fields to find your class(es). If you know the exact course subject code and number, you can select and enter them. Otherwise, choose at least a subject area.
- Tip: for a listing of only web-based courses, select “On-line Course” in the Attribute Type box. Similarly, for a listing of only graduate-level courses, choose “Graduate Level Course.”
- Click “Class Search” to continue
- For each class that you would like to register, check the checkbox at the left. When finished click the “Register” button at the bottom.
- Important: Once you register for a course, an e-mail account is created for you and a bill (and all future billing) is sent there. By registering for a course you agree to this financial obligation. However, you will be automatically removed from all classes on May 9 at 5 p.m. if you have not paid at least $100 or have secured some financial aid or tuition discount.
- Note: If there are any problems with your course choices a red stop sign will show and describe the registration problem. For example a pre-requisite or test score error, you will need to contact the department.
- You can continue to go back and search for additional courses and register for them. Once finished, check out your current schedule and make sure you are only registered for the courses you wish to take.
- Note: to drop a class from this menu, choose “Drop Course” from the Action drop down box.
