Evolve Reach Admission Assessment (A2) plus Critical Thinking

The A2 exam is administered through UALR Testing Services.

The UALR administration is available ONLY to UALR Nursing Program applicants.  Applicants to other nursing programs or those for whom UALR’s test days and times are not convenient, should contact Prometric.

The company, Elsevier, owns the A2 exam, so one may have to search the Prometric website using the word “Elsevier“.

Test Length:

4 hours

Test Fee:

$62.00 NON-REFUNDABLE under all circumstances.  Check your calendar carefully.

Score Report:

You are responsible for submitting your score report to the UALR Department of Nursing; Testing Services does not submit scores.

A one page, summary, score report will be given to you immediately after you complete your exam.  An eight page report will be available to you through your Evolve account within 24 to 72 hours.

How to register for the exam:

Test registration must take place prior to the exam date.  Same day registration and stand-by registration are not permitted.

  1. Obtain a UALR Department of Nursing advising form by either being academically advised by that department, or by attending one of their orientations.  The form is red and approximately 3″x8.5″.  It confirms you are an applicant to the UALR Nursing Program.
  2. Go to the UALR Office of Testing Services in Ross Hall 409.  Office hours are Mondays-Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  The office is closed on holidays.
  3. Present the UALR Department of Nursing advising form.
  4. Submit your $62.00 NON-REFUNDABLE test fee.  Double check your schedule before registering for this test because your fee will not be refunded under any circumstance.  Testing Services accepts exact cash, check, money order, VISA or MasterCard.
  5. One unexpired Government issued photo ID is required at the time of registration.  Acceptable IDs are limited to a driver’s license, passport, military ID, or a State ID issued by the Arkansas Revenue Department.

Fragrances:

For the personal comfort of all examinees, please do NOT wear cologne, scented powders, or other unnecessary fragrances.  They are a distraction to other examinees, and, more importantly, some people are allergic.

What to Bring on Your Test Date:
  1. Evolve username and password
  2. Admission ticket
  3. Unexpired Government issued photo ID: driver’s license, military ID, passport, or ID obtained from the Arkansas Revenue Department
You MUST create an Evolve Account:

When you register for the A2 exam, you will be given handouts with instructions regarding how to create an account with Evolve.  Evolve will assign a username and password that must be used on your test date to login to your test. 

You must create an Evolve account and obtain your username and password prior to your test date.  Test day account creation is not permitted.  Testing staff will not delay the start of the exam for unprepared examinees.

Don’t be confused by the elaborate Evolve website.  Remember, you have registered to take the Evolve A2 on the UALR Campus in Ross Hall and not through the Evolve website.  Refer to your test day admission ticket and handouts.

Reschedule:

A $20.00 fee is assessed each time you reschedule.  This $20 rescheduling fee is non-refundable and non-transferable

Steps to reschedule:

  1. Prior to your originally scheduled test date, come to Testing Services in Ross Hall 409.  Office hours are Mondays-Thursdays 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  2. Present your unexpired government issued photo ID.
  3. Present your original admission ticket; you will be given a new admission ticket for your new test date.
  4. Present your $20.00 rescheduling fee payable by exact cash, check, money order, Visa or MasterCard.

Test day rescheduling is not permitted.  You will be considered a no-show and your test fee ($62) will be forfeited. 

No-shows may not reschedule.  No-shows must complete the entire registration process to schedule an exam.  The no-show’s original $62 testing fee is forfeited.

Retest:

You may take the A2 exam a second time.  Be aware that it takes approximately 1 week to order and receive a different form of the test. Please keep this in mind when you plan your second test date.

The A2 is offered on Wednesdays at 9:00 AM:

Examinees should check the “Last Minute” list below or contact Prometric for alternate testing dates.

“Last Minute” open dates:

From time to time, other testing programs do not use all of the seats reserved for their tests.  When this occurs, these open seats will be made available to Evolve A2 examinees and posted just below.

If you have previously registered for the A2 and want to change to one of these “last minute” dates, you must reschedule according to the “Rescheduling” procedure.

Your $62.00 test fee will transfer to your new date only if you satisfy the “Reschedule” policy above.

Accommodation:

  1. Contact the UALR Disability Resource Center to request that documentation of your approved accommodation(s) be electronically submitted to UALR Testing Services prior to your exam date.  It cannot be hand delivered by you.
  2. It may take one week or more to order and receive the A2 extended time exam from the testing company.  Please plan your test date accordingly.
  3. If you use a medical device that makes any noise whatsoever, you must inform UALR Testing Services at the time you register for the A2.

Inclement Weather Policy:

If UALR is closed, Testing Services is also closed, therefore the A2 will not be administered.  We shall make every effort to reschedule your exam for another date that is convenient for you.  Your $62 test fee will transfer to the new date.

  • Personality Profile - Uses concepts related to introversion and extroversion to classify a student’s personality style.
  • Learning Style - Assesses the preferred learning style of the prospective applicant and offers test-taking and study tips suited to that learning style

Science

  • Biology - Covers biology basics, water, biological molecules, metabolism, cells, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, etc.
  • Chemistry - Contains test items that cover matter, chemical equations, and reasctions, the periodic table, atomic structure, nuclear chemistry, chemical bonding, etc.
  • Anatomy & Physiology - Provides coverage of general terminology and anatomical structions and systems.

English Language
