All Praxis tests at UALR are administered in Ross Hall. Report to the first-floor lobby and look for signs that direct you to your testing room. There are two different sessions during the day — check your Admission Ticket to find out what session your test is being offered.

PRAXIS I (PPST)

is available on computer year-round at Thomson Prometric Test Centers.

To register for computer-based PPST with a credit card, call 1-800-853-6773.

To register for computer-based PPST with a check or money order, fill out the CBT Authorization Voucher Request and mail it to ETS with your check or money order. ETS will send you a voucher to confirm your payment, and at that time you may call and schedule your appointment at Thomson Prometric.

PRAXIS Test Day Information

STANDBY registration (trying to register on the test day) is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. You must register through ETS to take a Praxis II test.

If you need to take Praxis I, see the information above to learn more about testing on computer. Thomson Prometric Test Centers offer Praxis I tests throughout the year. The Praxis I (PPST) tests are NOT administered at UALR.

Praxis II tests are offered during several months each year, usually in August, September, November, January, March, April, and June.

You should refer to the ETS website for comprehensive information — but here are a few pointers.

  1. Make sure you have acceptable identification from an official source and with your current legal name. The name on your ID must match the name that you used when you registered for the test. If you do not have acceptable ID, you cannot be admitted. See page the ETS website for details on identification. STUDENT IDs and EMPLOYEE IDs are not acceptable!
  2. Some tests require that you bring certain items with you. For example, to take the Mathematics Content Knowledge test, you must have a graphing calculator. To take the Art Making test, you must bring 4 reproductions of your own artwork. Look at the “Tests at a Glance” descriptions for complete information as to what you should bring for your specific test(s).
  3. UALR Testing Services staff members are experienced in test administration in many fields. We are not experts, however, on teacher certification. If you have questions about what test(s) to take, please check with Arkansas Teacher Certification. Testing staff cannot advise you as to which test(s) are required for your teacher licensure.

STANDBY registration (trying to register on the test day) is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. You must register through ETS to take a Praxis II test.
