Web Services Coordinator Job Responsibilities

The Web Services Coordinator reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and serves as the first point of contact for the University’s web presence and all web efforts (any web resource ending in “ualr.edu”). The coordinator collaborates with other campus units to ensure a positive user experience for all constituencies (including but not limited to prospective students, current students, alumni, prospective employees, faculty, staff, community members, and other visitors) in all aspects of function and appearance of the University’s web presence by:

  • Developing and implementing a collaborative strategy for web services that is in line with the University’s mission and translating institutional goals into web-based solutions
  • Providing leadership and guidance in all web-related areas to the University administration
  • Developing and implementing standards, policies, and procedures for the use of web services that are complementary and/or compliant with existing state and federal regulations and laws; and establishing mechanisms for enforcing University guidelines and quality standards to ensure a positive user experience for all constituents
  • Coordinating and prioritizing web solutions and website requests and managing the progress of individual projects for the campus
  • Collaborating with other campus units to integrate mission-based enrollment, marketing, and maintenance efforts into a cohesive web presence
  • Managing the information architecture across all web services and coordinating the efforts between personnel committed to web administration, design, or development
  • Developing an evaluation process of web services through the use of surveys, usability testing, server logs, and other means and publishing an annual report on web services
  • Remaining current with technical advances in web technologies and methodologies in order to help create a community centered on user experience and customer service principles.
