The Language Resource Center, located in Stabler Hall 201, offers a modern and inviting atmosphere for the study and appreciation of foreign languages. There are twenty-four PC laptop computers available for individual use. Classes may also visit as a group, and language clubs are welcome to reserve the space for social gatherings throughout the semester. The LRC is truly a “smart” facility with the latest multimedia to assist students in improving foreign language skills. In the LRC you can practice listening and speaking skills, watch foreign films, access resources on the web, and practice conversation. If you prefer, you may bring your own laptop as the LRC has wireless connectivity. Many students find it a convenient place to study and review with classmates, or simply spend time with other students who are interested in world cultures. Free tutoring in several languages is offered on a walk-in basis throughout the semester. See schedule for language availability and times.
The LRC is open daily from 8:30am-6:30pm, though the hours may vary slightly from semester to semester so see the current schedule below. Native speakers and foreign language majors staff the facility and are available for help. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Theresa Warner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have free, drop-in peer tutoring available throughout the week for French, Spanish, and Chinese students in the Language Resource Center in Stabler 201. These tutors are available at the times listed on the schedule, and some are available for appointments, including online tutoring.
