MPA Grad Named House Parliamentarian

Finos “Buddy” Johnson, a December 1997 graduate of UALR’s Master of Public Administration program, has been appointed parliamentarian of the Arkansas General Assembly’s House of Representatives.

In his new role, Johnson – who has served as assistant parliamentarian for two years –  settles disputes over House rules and parliamentary procedure. He also helps the speaker plan the daily calendar and decide which committees bills are assigned to.

Prior to joining the House staff as public relations director, Johnson was a capitol correspondent for United Press International and a reporter for the Benton Courier.
