Bring a nonperishable food item to the UALR Jack Stephens Center at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, and “Meet the Trojans,” an annual tradition where fans can catch a sneak peek of the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
“This is a free event, but we would like to encourage everyone to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Reach 13,000 campaign, a UALR campuswide initiative to help provide holiday meals to the local community,” said UALR Athletic Director Chris Peterson.
Concession stands will be open, and Trojan fans can enjoy free Pepsi products and Diamond Bear beer. The Nike Team Store will be open for fans to stock up on Trojan gear and check the sale racks.
The family-friendly program begins at 5:45 p.m. when Coaches Steve Shields and Joe Foley introduce their teams, followed by a 3-point shooting contest, a performance by the Trojan Dance Team, and a slam dunk contest.
Autographs and pictures with the teams and coaches will be available in the mezzanine at 6:30 p.m.
Trojan fans also can get information about becoming a season ticket holder, and UALR employees can learn about ticket discounts.
