SUMMER VAUGHT, DIRECTOR OF MATH PROGRAMS
Summer Vaught joined AR AIMS as Math Director in 2019. She earned her BS and MS in Mathematics, and MeD in Math Education from UA Little Rock, and as a Graduate Assistant she taught College Algebra, College Trigonometry, and Intermediate Algebra. Upon completing her MS, she began teaching at Little Rock Central High school where she taught for 11 years before joining AR AIMS. At Central High, Summer taught AP Statistics for 9 years and AP Calculus BC for 6 years, earning some of the top scores in the state for both courses. She was department chair at Central for 6 years and Math Interventionist for 2 years. She and a colleague developed a math intervention program that raised ACT Aspire scores as well as overall math grades for underperforming students. She has been serving as an AP Reader in Statistics for 7 years, with two years as a table leader. She resides in Little Rock with and 2 children.
