Welcome to the 5th Annual Arkansas ArchaeOlympics!
On October 19, 2019, join us on beautiful Petit Jean Mountain for fun archaeological themed games to celebrate International Archaeology Day! Our events will challenge you to learn about survival methods in prehistory, the techniques professional archaeologists employ, and cultures of the past in Arkansas and around the world. This afternoon of fun and learning is brought to you by a collaboration of the Anthropology program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the Arkansas Archeological Survey. The ArchaeOlympics are free and open to the public.

Atlatl and Spear: Accurately throw spears at a target to flex your prehistoric hunting skills. (see rulebook page 3 for more details)
What? Where? When?: This map and quiz event showcases your knowledge of famous world archaeological sites. (see rulebook page 4)
Excavation to Curation Race: Navigate obstacles and challenges to bring your team victory! Complete a madcap multi-leg journey that represents the stages of the archaeological process from field to lab. (see rulebook page 7)
Teams consist of 4-6 archaeoletes. Participation is open to everyone except professional archaeologists.
