Works from the Permanent Collection

This group exhibition features work by 25 artists selected from the UA Little Rock permanent collection. This exhibition is comprised of drawings and paintings; fine art prints and photographs; sculptural objects, ceramics, and contemporary crafts. The collection represents the work of professional artists with regional, national, and international reputations, and art produced by students studying art and design at UA Little Rock.

UA Little Rock is celebrating the arrival of Darrell Walker as the new men’s head basketball coach on Thurs. June 21 with a reception at the WCAD.

Darrell Walker collects art created by modern and contemporary black artists. His collection has been featured in exhibition around the country. Walker’s collection was featured in Gallery I of the Fine Arts Building in 1996. Lisa and Darrell walker have donated nine works to the permanent collection and they have loaned works to curated exhibition at the UA Little Rock.

Two works included in this exhibition donated by Lisa and Darrell Walker are: Herbert Gentry, American (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1919 – 2003, Stockholm, Sweden), Separation II, 1998, acrylic on paper and Juan Logan, American (Nashville, Tennessee, 1946-), Council of Convenience, 1995, Lithograph. Walker is also loaning the painting by Moe Brooker, American (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1940 -), The Heartbeat of Something Unanimous, 1990, oil on canvas.

Summer Gallery Hours

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on university holidays.

Temporary Closure

The two galleries will be closed June 6 – 19, 2018 for painting.
The galleries will reopen on June 20, 2018.
