Institutional Effectiveness Committee

In August 2018, the Institutional Effectiveness Committee (IEC) was established to serve as a clearinghouse for all planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement processes carried out within the university.

Its initial charge included completing a Strategic Resource Allocation Study, which evaluated each academic and non-academic units on Vision, Value, and Efficiency. Each Unit was evaluated based on efforts in assessment and continuous improvement with “Value” as an indicator, a catch-all term to capture program quality, effectiveness and shared mission.

As the IEC develops and implements an annual integrated budgeting process that ties resource allocation to improvement and planning, a program’s commitment to assessing student learning outcomes will continue to be prioritized and incentivized at the institutional level.
