Morning Mentor series<\/a>, a 20-minute mentor video series offered by Magna Publications once a week for 16 weeks in the fall, and 16 weeks in the spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UA Little Rock\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Academy for Teaching and Learning Excellence (ATLE)<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP)<\/strong>&nbsp;have partnered to make this exciting opportunity available for free to all our faculty members and instructors (full-time and part-time) through a shared Blackboard organization shell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current participants for the Faculty Mentoring Program will be automatically added to this organization shell and provided with further instructions. ATLE will add any other faculty members who would like to have access to this fast, focused, high-quality training series. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in physical anthropology from the National School of Anthropology and History in Mexico City, and both a master\u2019s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology with a specialization in demography from Brown University. Since joining the faculty at UA Little Rock in 2009, she has brought her expertise from her previous roles as a research associate at the Mexican Census Bureau and the Mexican Population Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research interests include population aging, international migration, and families and living arrangements. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in English Philology from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She also holds a master\u2019s and a Ph.D. in English, along with a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning and a Graduate Certificate in Women\u2019s Studies from the University of Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since joining UA Little Rock in 2011, Dr. Barrio has previously served as an ATLE co-director (2019-2022), won her college\u2019s Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching in 2023, and her college\u2019s Faculty Excellence Award in Public Service in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research and teaching interests include African American literature, Afro-Caribbean literature, postcolonial studies, and gender and women\u2019s studies. Her most popular courses include seminars on Afrofuturism, Migration Literature, Toni Morrison, Neo-Slave Narratives, Postcolonial Literature, and Women in Literature. Dr. Barrio\u2019s research explores how race, gender, and class affect migration patterns and the notion of citizenship in the African Diaspora. She earned her Ph.D. in social work from the University of Missouri in 2016 and joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2018. She is a licensed\u00a0certified social worker (LCSW) in Arkansas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, Dr. Ruhr won the university&#8217;s\u00a0Faculty Excellence Award in Public Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research interests include healthcare access, integrated behavioral health, and program evaluation. Call or write a personal note.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diagnose the students\u2019 prerequisite learning by questionnaire or pre-test and give them the feedback as soon as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hand out study questions or study guides.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be redundant.
