Post-baccalaureate coursework provides students with the academic and clinical foundation to enter a master&#8217;s degree program in speech language pathology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This post-bac program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours. It provides a strong foundation for future SLPs who want to work with children and\/or adults. No courses are offered during the summer, and no online courses are offered. SLPs serve clients from birth to geriatrics. Pre-admission requires a meeting with Education Counselor <a href=\"https:\/\/calendly.com\/aginger-ualr\">Amanda Ginger<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upper-level students may be admitted to the program if they meet these requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (includes ALL previous college-level coursework)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of approximately 50 hours of college coursework<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A meeting with Undergraduate Coordinator <a href=\"khays1@ualr.edu\"> Kelsey Hays<\/a>,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-minimum-qualifications-to-practice-as-an-slp\">Minimum Qualifications to Practice as an SLP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To practice as an SLP, you must have a <a href=\"https:\/\/ualr.edu\/audiospeech\/career-in-speech-language-pathology\/\">master\u2019s degree in speech-language pathology<\/a>, successful completion of the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA) national praxis examination, successful completion of a 9-month Supervised Clinical Fellowship Experience (post M.S.), and receipt of the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-course-sequence\">Course Sequence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The course sequence begins in the fall semester and each class is taught once per year. Specifically, his research is focused on the cognitive and linguistic processes that make communication possible, and how these processes can be utilized to improve assessments in disorder populations.
