Student Activity Fee Allocation Process

Each year, the Office of Campus Life allows any UALR registered student organization to request funding from the Student Activity Fee allocation committee comprising UALR students and faculty. The budget proposal process provides a real-world experience for students who participate. Faculty committee members enjoy the opportunity to learn more about student organizations and their contributions to life on campus.

Beginning in February each year, we host workshops and training sessions for student representatives. Attendance is mandatory. During these workshops, we teach the student representatives how to develop a proposal, how to use their budgets in line with University and related policies, and many other concepts.

Submitted budget proposals are reviewed by the Allocation Committee after which, the students attend a short budget hearing. Funding is awarded on the next University fiscal year.

This year, we had a total of 73 organizations complete the process.
