Meet The Student Experience Center Staff!
LaShawn Hayden, Administrative Specialist III
Abby is from Jacksonville, Illinois. She attended Eastern Illinois University for her undergraduate studies, and graduated in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. Abby attended graduate school at Oklahoma State University, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership Studies with a focus in College Student Development in May of 2017. She joined the Student Experience Center staff in August of 2017 as the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life. Abby advises the College Panhellenic Council (CPC), the Interfraternity Council (IFC), and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). When she is not at UA Little Rock, Abby enjoys exploring the central Arkansas area for places to hike or eat and reading a good book at a local coffee shop.
Brittany Richards, Graduate Assistant for Non-traditional Student Programs
Brittany, an Arkansas native, completed her undergraduate work right here at UA Little Rock and in May 2017 earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Digital Graphics, Studio Art, and Photography. Brittany is currently pursuing her Master’s in Education degree in Learning Systems Technology with plans to graduate August 2019. Brittany serves as the graduate assistant for Non-Traditional Student Programs and looks forward to creating and facilitating workshops and events that specifically address the needs of this growing population on our campus.
When not working in the Student Experience Center or doing homework, Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and their two big dogs.
Benny Scroggin, Graphic Artist
Karen Willson, Graduate Assistant for Leadership Programs
Karen was born and raised in Ripley, Oklahoma. She is a current Graduate Student at UA Little Rock and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Applied Communication. She attended Northern Oklahoma College, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 2014, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational and Strategic Communication in 2016. She joined the Student Experience Center in the Fall of 2017 and works to design, establish, and promote leadership programs on campus. When she is not in class or at work, she enjoys exploring National Parks with her dog and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
