Frances Frazier obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts in 2014, a Master of Education in Adult & Professional Learning (Adult Education) in 2020, and a Certificate of Gerontology in 2020.

Frances’s goal of becoming an academic advisor started in her previous position as an administrative assistant. As an administrative assistant, she helped students look for resources within their programs and helped them connect to their faculty advisors. This position taught her how to listen to students’ needs and concerns while locating resources to aid in their journey to graduation.

Through her education and previous positions, Frances learned that college students may require different resources and training as a route to graduation. She has learned to set the environment for honesty and trust and to have open conversations that’ll allow her students to think positively and clearly about their goals, careers, and education.

She believes that education is one of the most important things a person can give themselves. Her personal philosophy is: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”-Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu
