Battle of the Talents

This year’s Battle of the Talents was hosted on Monday, November 11. There were many great acts and great student participation. This year, CLC collected about 1000 cans to go towards Reach 13,000. Students were also given tickets to possibly win a prize at the end of the show.

Though there were many great acts, some of which included singing, dancing, and playing of instruments, only one could be the winner. The Sirens, which included sophomore CLC scholar Astasha Lewis, freshman CLC scholar Emerald Humphery, and sophomore CLC scholar Jasmine Milton, won 3rd place with their rendition of  Stay by Rhianna. In 2nd place was Emerald Humphery who sang her rendition of Listen by Beyonce while Jasmine Milton did an interpretive dance.

This year’s 2K13K Battle of the Talents winner was sophomore CLC scholar Spencer Lloyd who played his guitar and sang. He gave the judges a list of 27 songs. While he played, the judges would call out songs and he would transition to the next song without stopping. Though the scores were close between Spencer Lloyd and Emerald Humphery, he came out on top.

Congratulations to the winners and a big thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make Battle of the Talents a great show!
