It has been a busy semester for Mass Communication Professor, Amy O. Barnes.
At the beginning of October, Barnes presented at the PRSA International Conference in Boston alongside her co-author (Marlene Neil).
In August of this year, Barnes received the ‘Professional Relevance Award’ at the national convention of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. She along with her co-author were awarded for their ground-breaking research in Alpha and Omega influence strategies among PR Professionals.
It was this research that sparked Barnes and her co-author to write a book. “After more than 60 total interviews, we found we were getting some important advice and life lessons from these senior-level pros which would not only be helpful to students but entering professionals [as well]” Barnes stated.
The Book is expected to be released early 2018.
