Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Timothy Edwards

Dr. Timothy Edwards is the Interim Director of the School of Mass Communication and a professor where his department focuses on Journalism and Radio, TV and film. Through hard work and dedication, Dr. Edwards became a full-time professor and currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses.

Over the years, Dr. Edwards has proven to be an essential part of UA Little Rock and is recognized for his teaching, research, and service. His contribution to the community includes serving on the African American Male Initiative Steering Committee, operating as a faculty mentor, and also serving on the Southwest Education Council for Journalism and Mass Communication.

Students describe Dr. Edwards as one of their favorite professors and credit him for their academic success.

A former student states: “He is the main reason why I never gave up and stayed on pace to graduate at the top of my class. His intelligence, his character, and his connection to his students made him very accessible.”
