Donaghey Scholars Celebrate 25 Years

UALR is planning a celebration! The Donaghey Scholars program is celebrating 25 years with a homecoming event on June 1, 2013 at the Jack Stephens Center on the campus of UALR. We are inviting our entire Donaghey graduates home to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The Donaghey Scholars program is UALR’s university wide honors program. It carries UALR’s most generous academic scholarship and provides a distinctive interdisciplinary curriculum which promotes critical thinking and active learning.

Governor George and Louvenia Donaghey had a vision for Arkansans that included quality education for its young people. In 1927, they presented Little Rock Junior College, UALR’s predecessor, with a portion of their estate hoping that it would be of some help in turning that dream into reality.

It has been more than 80 years since that commitment and the Donaghey’s vision is still very much alive. It is through the generous contributions of our loyal supporters that allow our students to take advantage of the UALR experience.

So come one, come all! All Donaghey Scholar graduates are invited to attend this silver anniversary event coordinated by the Donaghey Alumni Society and the UALR Alumni Association. The cost is $50 per ticket.
