Golf tourney big boost for business programs

UALR’s College of Business received a big boost following its second annual golf tournament on June 17.

More than 100 UALR alumni and friends helped raise more than $30,000 for the university’s business college. Funding from the four-person scramble held at the Pleasant Valley Country Club will provide a permanent endowment to support business student programs, including professional development workshops, placement activities, and student competitions such as the Microsoft Imagine Cup and the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Business Plan.

The George W. Donaghey Foundation is also providing a matching gift, bringing the total raised to more than $60,000.
