I never thought of it that way by Monica Guzman

UA Little Rock is proud to announce this year’s campus read, “I Never Thought of it That Way” by Mónica Guzmán. Our goal is to provide campus-wide engagement with a book that promotes reflection, active listening, and critical thinking. Guzmán’s text shows readers how to engage with friends, family, and even co-workers on the often highly contested and polarizing issues of our current times. I Never Thought of it That Way is both timely and important for our campus community. Please consider joining the conversation.

Praise, “Mónica invites wonder into the gulfs that divide us–a revolutionary kind of wonder that beckons us to listen beyond sound bites and slogans to the stories that carry our shared humanity. I Never Thought of it That Way is an accessible and practical guide for how to imagine a future that leaves no one behind.” – Valarie Kaur, author of See No Stranger and founder of the Revolutionary Love Project

Dates and Times For Book Discussions

Every two weeks, a member of the Racial Barriers Committee will host a discussion and will get the conversation started by asking thought-provoking questions about the chapters we have just read. Discussions will be held both in-person and online, on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We will be serving light refreshments for in-person participants.
