This graduate certificate is designed for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a qualifying specialty area*, but are looking to gain credentials in the field of education. Completion of the program will prepare qualified students for teaching licensure in Arkansas.
Graduate Certificate In Special Education
The Graduate Certificate in Special Education is a flexible program of study that will prepare candidates to deliver non-categorical services to a variety of learners with disabilities. Through supervised practice, candidates will be required to demonstrate competencies required of K-12 special educators. This program does not result in teaching licensure, but does allow teachers to obtain special education certification as an add-on to an existing initial or standard license.
Graduate Certificate In Dyslexia Therapy
The Dyslexia Therapist Graduate Certificate is designed for teachers to become certified by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) as K-12 dyslexia therapists. This certificate meets ADE competencies defined by Arkansas law as provided in ACT 1294 of 2013. Aligned with standards of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), the International Literacy Association (ILA), and the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC), this program provides teachers with the knowledge and skills to work effectively with students experiencing moderate to severe reading difficulties including dyslexia.
Graduate Certificate In Literacy Coaching
The Literacy Coach Specialist Graduate Certificate is an 18-credit-hour post-master’s program. The certificate is designed to prepare the reading specialist for the unique role of literacy coach in today’s schools.
Graduate Certificate In Building Level Administration (no longer accepting new students)
The Graduate Certificate in Building Level Administration is designed to meet the licensure requirements for principalship. The program includes a minimum 21 credit hours of graduate coursework and internship in educational administration.
Graduate Certificate In Gifted and Talented Education
The Graduate Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education is designed for teachers looking to develop and implement creative teaching strategies for advanced learners in the K-12 setting. This program is perfect for educators at all levels: classroom teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators wishing to improve the learning environments of their students.

Non-Degree Licensure Program in Curriculum/Program Administration and Supervision (no longer accepting new students)
The Non-Degree Licensure in Curriculum/Program Administration and Supervision is designed to prepare students to make decisions regarding program development, administration and/or employment evaluation.
Non-Degree Licensure Program in Superintendency (no longer accepting new students)
This licensure program is designed to gain knowledge, skills, and dispositions to be a successful superintendent or other district level administrative positions. To be eligible for this licensure program, candidates must hold a Building Level Administrator or Curriculum/Program Administrator License.
