It is my pleasure to welcome you to the UA Little Rock School of Education! Our faculty are dedicated to excellence in teaching, conducting meaningful research and providing service to the central Arkansas community, our state and nation, and abroad. Above all, our mission is to produce highly qualified teachers who are ready to teach.

If it is your dream to become a teacher, our faculty provide an array of degrees, certificates, and licensure programs in the School of Education. Offering undergraduate programs in elementary education, middle childhood education, special education and secondary education (education minor), our graduates are often offered teaching positions before they complete their capstone internship. Once in the classroom, practicing teachers may choose from graduate programs in curriculum and instruction, gifted and talented education, learning systems technology, middle grades education, special education, and reading education to enhance their overall effectiveness in the classroom. For second career individuals who completed a bachelor’s degree, our faculty also offer master’s degree and certificate programs that lead to licensure. Moreover, our undergraduate and graduate programs are led by talented faculty with diverse backgrounds and experiences in teaching, learning, assessment, educational research and statistics, and educational policy.

Thus, I encourage you to consider the School of Education for your learning and development in the field of education. Based on the character and success of our students, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the leadership that our graduates bring to the field of education, the School of Education significantly impacts life-long professional learning as well as PK-12 student learning by preparing our graduates to effectively and compassionately TEACH, LEAD, and INNOVATE in Arkansas and beyond.
