Learn and Apply the Quality Matters Rubric
Quality Matters (QM) is a nationally recognized, research-based set of standards for online and hybrid courses. The Applying the QM Rubric (APPQMR) workshop is a six-hour, one-day workshop (it can also be broken up into two, three-hour days) that goes into detail about what QM is, what the standards are, and how they are applied to courses. A certified facilitator leads the APPQMR workshops on the UA Little Rock campus, and participants receive an official certificate of completion from Quality Matters.
This workshop is the first step for faculty who are interested in becoming certified QM Reviewers. After completing the APPQMR workshop, faculty are eligible to complete the QM Reviewer certification course (offered directly from Quality Matters) and become paid consultants (as QM Reviewers) on courses offered by other institutions. Doing so will also allow them to better understand what other universities are doing in their online programs and apply what they learn to their own courses. These APPQMR workshops are offered at least once per semester (including once during the summer). The workshops are open to those curious about QM, those curious about teaching online, and those who are going through, or have gone through the QM process.
We are proud to offer this tremendous professional development opportunity at no cost to UA Little Rock faculty members.
We invite those within and beyond our UA Little Rock community to participate in this professional development opportunity; one that improves the quality of the participant’s teaching and also benefits others learning about online pedagogy and best practices.
