On May 9th, 2018 UA Little Rock’s student organization The Alliance held its first “Lavender Graduation” and “Awesome Allies” Reception. This annual ceremony honors lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer students and acknowledges student achievements and contributions, along with faculty and staff who have served as “Awesome Allies,” to the University. Drs. Laura Barrio-Vilar, Angela Hunter, and Kris McAbee were awarded “Awesome Allies” rainbow cords at this inaugural event.
