What is extended education?
Extended education programs are educational opportunities offered to individuals throughout their lifecycle. These programs cover a range of experiences including individual courses, workforce training, camps, conferences, and certificate programs. You do not need a degree to enroll in these courses. If you already have a degree, you may take extended education courses to upgrade your skills or expand your knowledge base.
Who can take Extended Education courses?
UA Little Rock Extended Education courses are an option for individuals who are considering a career change, looking to upskill, or pursuing a new interest. You must be at least 18 years old to register.
Do I have to be an alumnus or associated with UA Little Rock to register for a class?
No! You do not need to be enrolled as a student at UA Little Rock to register for a UA Little Rock Extended Education course. All UA Little Rock Extended Education classes are open to the public.
Do I have to be a college graduate to enroll in continuing education classes?
Generally, no. Some courses may require a certain level of education or prior training in order to enroll. Be sure to read the “prerequisites” that may be listed for a course.
How do I register for Extended Education classes?
Students looking to enroll in a noncredit course at UA Little Rock Extended Education first should visit the website and explore the noncredit course catalog: https://www.campusce.net/ualr/ . Once you have selected a course or program, you may choose “add to cart.” The system will prompt you to set up a new account if you do not already have one.
How do I pay? Are there payment plans?
Pay by credit card when registering online. Tuition is due in full at the time of registration. There are currently no payment plans available. We accept credit/debit cards (VISA, MasterCard, or Discover).
What is the parking policy?
We do not validate parking for Weekend University.
What is the refund policy?
For courses that include meals or receptions, a full refund (minus the non-refundable $10 registration fee or any non-returnable deposit) is available until ten (10) business days before the course start date. For other courses, full refunds (minus the non-refundable $10 registration fee or any non-returnable deposit) are available until five (5) business days before the course start date.

Class changes and cancellations
Extended Education at UA Little Rock makes every effort to maintain the schedule of classes as announced in our catalog. However, we reserve the right to change or cancel classes when necessary without previous announcement in cases such as low enrollment, instructor illness, or inclement weather. Registrants of canceled courses will be notified and receive a refund. All class changes will be reflected on our website.
What is the difference between a certificate program and a certification?
Certificate programs are generally nondegree, noncredit professional training or executive education programs that award certificates to participants upon successful completion of one or more modules.
Certification programs are designed to provide training to individuals, who are required to have and maintain specific levels of knowledge and skills in their job categories, often as a legal requirement to perform their duties. Certification programs may carry credits and may be prerequisites for licensure.
