Facilities Management Leadership Team Completes APPA’s Supervisor’s Toolkit

Members of the Facilities Management leadership team from frontline supervisors through directors completed APPA’s Supervisor’s Toolkit training held at the Jack Stephens Center July 24-27.

Supervisor’s Toolkit is the first in a series of leadership training courses from APPA. In today’s business environment, the traditional role of the supervisor/manager is no longer adequate; today’s business environment demands leadership. Supervisor’s Toolkit has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the facilities management professional.  It is a structured, open-ended, and pragmatic approach to developing supervisors.  It is not so much a teaching program as a development process, designed to help supervisors realize both personal and professional growth. The course helps supervisors develop a systematic approach toward organizing, managing, motivating, and meeting customer expectations.

For over 100 years, APPA has been the leading association for professionals in educational facilities management. Educational facilities professionals develop and sustain the physical environment of the institutions that they serve. In support of this work, APPA provides information, training, and research based on four core areas of competency: General Administration & Management; Operations & Maintenance; Energy, Utilities and Environmental Stewardship; and Planning, Design and Construction.
