As an interdisciplinary program, Gender Studies faculty have their primary academic homes in departments across the university. The program is administered by the School of Human Inquiry with the assistance of a coordinator from among the list of gender studies faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you a UA Little Rock faculty member with teaching and research interests related to gender studies? To become an official Gender Studies program faculty affiliate, contact the Gender Studies Coordinator. There is a short application form to fill out, and then the existing program faculty will vote on your nomination. Applications are due bi-annually by or before Consultation Day in the Fall and Spring semesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It delves into how roles are impacted by social, economic, political, legal, and other changes in society. Ideal for students seeking a degree in <a href=\"https:\/\/ualr.edu\/philosophy\/interdisc\/\">Interdisciplinary Studies<\/a>, these courses are a good foundation for <a href=\"http:\/\/ualr.edu\/gradschool\">graduate studies<\/a>\u00a0in the social sciences, humanities, law, business, or social services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-earning-the-gender-studies-minor\">Earning the Gender Studies Minor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with GNST courses, this 18-hour gender studies minor allows you to explore a diverse range of courses in disciplines across the university. Each semester brings fresh opportunities with additional qualifying courses that count toward the gender studies minor. Want to do an internship in gender studies or take a course beyond what’s listed on the website? Just contact our gender studies coordinator for permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To earn your gender studies minor or concentration in gender studies, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete GNST2300: Introduction to Gender Studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, complete 12 hours of approved upper-level electives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In your final semester, complete a gender studies capstone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-gender-studies-capstone\">Gender Studies Capstone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideally taken during the semester just before graduation, this senior-level capstone course is a dynamic journey. <strong>You must get prior approval from the gender studies coordinator in order to take the capstone course. <\/strong>You will work closely with the gender studies coordinator and the course instructor to create a capstone contract that will stipulate what  you need to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From seminars to hands-on projects, the options are endless.
