There are numerous partnerships and programs that place university personnel in contact with government officials on a routine basis. At any given time, there can be multiple interactions happening between UA Little Rock staff or faculty and any given government official or agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important that those interactions are coordinated as much as possible so that the university is delivering a consistent message to stakeholders. If you have questions about activities that may place you or your department in an informational or advocacy role with legislators, Congressional members or staff, the governor\u2019s office or any other elected officials, you are encouraged to contact our office. We are ready to provide help and guidance as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are committed to developing strong partnerships between public officials and the university to work for educational and economic opportunity in our city, state and region. Please <a href=\"https:\/\/directory.ualr.edu\/search?p=792\">contact the Vice Chancellor of University Affairs<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-local-relations\">Local Relations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The University District Partnership provides a link between the university, surrounding neighborhoods, civic groups and local government. Its mission is to build relationships, share information and seek new opportunities that match the university\u2019s academic expertise with needs in the community. Read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/ualr.edu\/universitydistrict\/\">the work of the University District Partnership<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-state-relations\">State Relations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the year, the office works with members of the legislature, the Governor, and members of her staff, as well as officials of many state agencies on items of importance to the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office of Government Relations tracks issues during each session of the Arkansas General Assembly, as well as interim committee activities, that have impact on the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkleg.state.ar.us\">The Arkansas General Assembly\u2019s site<\/a> is a good source of information on bills and acts of the legislature, committee meetings, and member profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-federal-relations\">Federal Relations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office of Government Relations works with the offices of the Arkansas congressional delegation to support UA Little Rock\u2019s federal initiatives. The office can assist UA Little Rock faculty and departments with finding support for their research and projects with federal agency officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The office is a resource for the campus and for elected officials on issues related to government agencies.
