About Little Rock

Our Capital City

Little Rock is the capital city of Arkansas, the Natural State. It is a friendly, cosmopolitan city located in the south-central part of the United States. The climate is very mild, but the seasons change; there are spring flowers, summer days filled with sunshine, falling leaves in the autumn, and cool winters with an occasional snowfall. The surrounding countryside is filled with many beautiful lakes and rivers, mountains and forests. Swimming, hiking, camping, fishing, golf, tennis and many other sports are available to all who live in or visit Little Rock. The city is the center of Arkansas’ business and industry, and the 250,000 residents enjoy many theaters, restaurants and shopping malls. There are galleries and museums to visit, and music lovers go to the opera, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Arkansas productions. You could choose to go to a music concert at the Simmons Bank Arena or Robinson Center, or spend an afternoon at the Little Rock Zoo.

You can walk along the banks of the Arkansas River and buy fresh flowers and fruit at the open-air River Market. Wonderful special events, such as ice shows, Broadway plays and circuses come to Little Rock as they make their tours around the United States. You will enjoy the friendliness of a small city mixed with the attractions of a big city – all in Little Rock.
