Dr. Ahmed Abu-Halimeh who was graduated from the Integrated Computing PhD Information Quality Track this past December has accepted the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates. Dr. Abu-Halimeh’s area of research is the integration of information quality into visual analytics, primarily focused on the subjective information quality dimensions such as believability and reputation. His dissertation advisor was Dr. Mihail Tudoreanu, Director of the UALR Virtual Reality Center and who also holds a joint appointment with the Department Information Science and the Department of Systems Engineering.
Dr. Abu-Halimeh is currently employed as the Electronic Research Administration Specialist with the UALR Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, and his appointment at American University will begin this September. In addition to teaching courses on Data Communication and Information Theory at American University, he will also be involved in curriculum and program development including information quality.
Dr. Abu-Halimeh recently presented some of his research results at the 2011 International Conference on Information Quality (ICIQ-2011) held this past November in Adelaide, Australia. He was also recognized for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the Integrated Computing PhD program during the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology Awards Ceremony held this past May
