Dr. Thomas Redman, a prominent thought leader, author, and practitioner in the field of information and data quality, will give a lecture at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on October 26, 2012, at 3:00pm in the auditorium of the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology building as part of the Integrated Computing PhD Program Colloquium Series. Dr. Redman will be speaking to the students and faculty on the topic “A Practitioners View of the Really Big Data Quality Research Issues.” Currently serving as the president of Navesink Consulting Group, Dr. Redman previously managed the Data Quality Laboratory at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, NJ. The most recent of his four books Data Driven: Profiting from Your Most Important Business Asset (Harvard Business Press, 2008) has been influential in the growing movement to promote data quality and data governance to the level of an enterprise business function. In 2011, he was given the Outstanding Member Award by the International Association for Information and Data Quality, an organization he co-founded with Larry English, and was recognized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Information Quality Program for his Outstanding Contribution to the field of Information Quality. Dr. Redman also holds an appointment as an Affiliate Member of the Information Science Graduate Faculty, and is actively engaged with UALR students and faculty as an adviser in research related to social issues in information quality.
