IT Services events: National cybersecurity awareness month (NSCAM)

Dr. Veysel Erdag, Chief Information Security Officer at UA Little Rock, recently conducted an open forum to discuss how we can all learn to better protect ourselves, our family, and devices on the internet. This event, which was open to all staff, faculty, and students, was in support of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NSCAM) which occurs annually every October.

The event provided an opportunity to ask Dr. Erdag any questions regarding cybersecurity in our lives and learn some simple methods to secure our privacy and confidentiality. UALR_NCSAM_2019 (1)

In addition to the NSCAM open forum, Dr. Erdag made several presentations to various groups on campus during the month of October to discuss various cyber security topics. He shared some real-world examples of phishing attacks and scams that UA Little Rock has experienced. His message is that we share responsibility to make the internet safer and more secure for everyone.  #BeCyberSmart
