Telecommunications modernization project completed

A Mitel IP phone, model 6920The telecommunications refresh (modernization) project has been completed with the final users being migrated over to the Mitel VoIP system on January 28, 2021. The final phase of the project was the migration of 350+ employees in 47 departments and 25 buildings to the new platform.

The finished project is the culmination of over two years of transforming the university’s voice communications to a fully integrated unified communications platform for 1400+ employees. Two of the more notable features of the VoIP system that were delivered in the project are four-digit dialing and the new 916-xxxx phone number identity.

This modernization of the telecommunication infrastructure not only gives UA Little Rock an updated voice communication service across campus, but also provides enhanced unified communications features including audio and video conferencing, messaging, collaborative web functionality, and contact center technology.
