Upgrade the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus network with current technology to support the university’s communications and computer processing, both now and into the future.
UA Little Rock’s core network environment consists of technology that originally was introduced in 2008. Our campus firewalls are over 10 years old and will no longer be supported by the vendor in June of 2017. The firewalls must be upgraded prior to their end of life date.
The majority of the edge network, or campus building switches, are between 10 and 15 years old and are no longer supported by the manufacturer and don’t provide the functionality needed for modern networking, including power over Ethernet which is a requirement for modern voice over IP devices, wireless technologies, building controls, and security systems.
