Student Highlight, Daina Marie Rodriguez

Daina RodriguezName:  Daina Marie Rodriguez
Hometown:  El Paso, TX
Undergrad:  University of North Texas
Program:  Full Time
Graduation:  2018

Social Butterfly
Daina makes a strong, and positive, first impression.  Always prepared to meet and greet whether in the hallway or library, she has her talking points prepared and polished.  The President of the Hispanic Law Student Association; Vice Dean of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity; 2L Honor Justice for the Student Bar Association; and Social Chair of the Bowen Lambda, to name a few, Daina choose Bowen for its practical legal education and reputation for being able to help others along the way.

Making the Most of Anything
Daina takes advantage of opportunities to get involved.  She’s worked organizing the Ronald McDonald House Charities Chocolate Fantasy Ball, volunteered with the Center for Arkansas Legal Services, and Wills for Heroes.

Near Perfection
During the week, Daina works as a Student Ambassador in the Office of Admissions providing tours to prospective students.  She recruits future students by highlighting the best of what Bowen has to offer.  Daina jokes about her near perfect record for admitted students matriculating after her tours.  A key piece of advice she shares on all of her tours is for no prospective student apply to 13 law schools, she did.  She tells prospective students, once she had options and a selections had to be made she saw Bowen was not only going to provide the most practical legal education, but  also the chance to use the education as a tool to get where she wanted to be.

Quote:

“Diversity is extremely important at Bowen and I am excited to serve as the president of an organization that supports other cultures in the legal community.”
