Dear Fellow Bowen Alumni,
I am extremely honored to serve as the 2019-2020 President of the UA Little Rock Bowen School of Law Alumni Board and look forward to the upcoming year. One of my main goals as president is to help raise $100,000 towards permanently naming Room 321 at the law school after the late William Harold Flowers.
William Harold Flowers, known by many as W. Harold Flowers, was the patriarch of the civil rights movement in Arkansas. During his lifetime, he was the first African-American Special Circuit Judge in Jefferson County, appointed as an Associate Justice on the Arkansas Court of Appeals and served as President of the National Bar Association. In addition to serving the Arkansas legal community, W. Harold Flowers served as a minister in the United Methodist Church. If you are interested in helping to achieve this goal please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Dean Wanda Hoover at email@example.com. No amount is too large or too little.
My goal is also to increase alumni involvement in the Alumni Association. Throughout the year, the Association offers numerous opportunities for you to network with members of the legal community and reconnect with friends and classmates.
Your first opportunity to get involved is by sponsoring or attending the annual Bowen Alumni Scholarship Luncheon. On Monday, October 21, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we will celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the Bowen Alumni Scholarship Luncheon in the Grand Ballroom at the Little Rock Marriott. Tickets are $100, and $60 of each ticket is tax deductible. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Sponsorships begin at $1,500 and include ten tickets, recognition during the luncheon, and your company name on your table. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit Bowen students in the pursuit of their legal education. To sponsor the program, purchase tickets, or make a donation, please contact Ashley Nipp at firstname.lastname@example.org or (501) 324-9967.
You can also get involved by participating in the mock on-campus interviews, volunteering to mentor a Bowen student, hosting students during Student Dine-Arounds, or attending the annual Kick-Off for Young Alumni (classes of 2009-2019) on October 10.
I look forward to seeing you at the Alumni Scholarship Luncheon on October 21 or at one of our other exciting events.
