At Bowen, we are committed to fostering diversity in our community, as well as the courses and experiences that make up our curriculum.
The diversity of our community reflects that commitment. Our students, faculty, administration and staff come from an array of ethnic, academic, socioeconomic, and geographic backgrounds. Many are the first in their families to earn an advanced degree. They bring unique experiences and insights to Bowen and, in the process, enhance our students’ academic and social experience.
The all-encompassing scope of the law confers a duty upon legal educators and members of the legal community. We are responsible to our students and to society as a whole to create an academic community that values diversity, inclusion, and equity.

- Bowen was also named a Top 5 Regional Law School for Latina/o Students by Latina/o Students’ Guide to Law Schools. (2014)
- Student organizations at Bowen reflect the diversity of the students themselves. Affinity groups such as the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, the Black Law Students Association, the Hispanic Law Students Association, and the OUTLaw Legal Society, are active parts of the Bowen community.
- The faculty are a diverse group of scholars, practitioners, and teachers. Women make up over half of the full-time faculty. One-quarter of the full-time faculty are members of underrepresented groups.
