Collections and Archives Technology Student Assistant

The Collections and Archives Technology Student Assistant works under direct supervision and helps UA Little Rock Collections and Archives with a number of tasks:

  • Provides effective, customer-focused technical support and communication in person and via telephone and email to UA Little Rock personnel, as well as students and faculty using the unit’s technology.
  • Assists with installation, configuration, maintenance, and replacement of computers, other hardware and peripherals, and software in UA Little Rock Collections and Archives.
  • Assists with installation, configuration, and maintenance of circulating technology, including laptops, iPads, and iPad minis.
  • Assists with printing services and equipment throughout Collections and Archives.
  • Checks and updates regularly relevant support tickets in our internal help desk system (Spiceworks).
  • Communicates status effectively and escalates problems to supervisors.
  • Performs updates on PCs, Macs and other technology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

We are seeking candidates with some experience or training in troubleshooting computer problems and helping technology users. We are seeking candidates with solid communication skills.

The assistant will work up to 20 hours per week. Schedule could be flexible between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30, Monday through Friday.
