What is all that construction noise in the library?
The UA Little Rock Ottenheimer Library will be undergoing renovation during the summer.
What exactly is happening at the library?
There are three changes that will occur in the library: the creation of a new collaborative learning classroom, an upgraded library lobby, and renovations to the Information Technology Services (ITS) Lab. In the image, we can see what the new classroom will look like in the library’s improved renovations.
How long will the renovation last?
The construction started on July 1, 2019 and will last for at least 8 weeks. So be prepared to see it after the Fall semester begins. We will know the exact date for September once we get closer.
The south side entrance (the entrance closest to the plaza) will be closed during July. However, the west side entrance (the entrance closer to the elevators and coffee cart) will remain open. It also should be noted that these entrances’ closures will switch once the south side finishes. Be sure to keep an eye out for the signs to locate how to enter and exit the library.
Will anything be relocated?
The coffee cart will remain open but the ITS lab will be closed during the renovation. Additional computers, ADA workstations and a printer has been moved from the lab to the 1st floor of the library.
