February is Black History Month & the 150th Anniversary of…

This year not only celebrates the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 15th Amendment that guaranteed American citizens the right to vote irrespective of race, but it also marks the 150th anniversary of the first African American to serve in Congress–Senator Hiram Rhodes Revels from Mississippi.  Learn more about the 15th amendment, Sen. Hiram Rhodes Revels and other trailblazers by searching some of the Ottenheimer Library’s primary and secondary sources in celebration of Black History Month.
