Library to Improve Discovery

The UA Little Rock Ottenheimer Library will launch a new library discovery system on August 10, 2021.

The next-generation discovery platform will combine the functionality of the library’s Catalog, QuickSearch, and Journal Finder into a single, cohesive search interface making the seamless discovery and delivery of library resources easier than ever before.

Screen picture shows Primo System being used to search for "Nina Simone" related posts in the UALR Library database.

Highlights of the new system include:

  • Simplified search for books, e-books, articles and videos.
  • Enhanced results with recommendations, citations and reviews.
  • Personalized results based on interests or disciplines.
  • Upgraded request options for pickup or delivery.
  • Streamlined single sign-on to library e-resources.
  • Improved integration into Blackboard via Leganto (coming January 2022).

Existing links to library materials will remain unchanged through fall semester. Librarians will be available to assist faculty in creating new links to library content for their courses for spring semester. To set up a time to consult with a librarian on integrating library resources into courses, please use the Library Services Request Form.
