Renovations to create a Learning Commons in Ottenheimer Library begin October 18, 2021 and will continue through the fall semester. The library will remain open regular hours during the construction. However, there will be some unavoidable disruptions:
- Barriers will be installed and some areas on the first and third floors will be restricted
- The library lobby will be closed except when the library is open
- First floor group study rooms will be inaccessible
- There will be periods of noticeable noise during day hours (7:00 am to 3:30 pm).
Once completed, the commons will be the new home of the University Writing Center, Math Assistance Center, Communication Skills Center, and Global Languages Center, as well as general tutoring at the university. Whether students need to conduct research with physical or digital collections, write a paper, create and practice a presentation, or increase their knowledge and skill in math or other subjects, the Ottenheimer Library Learning Commons will provide a space where students can access the technology and expert assistance they need to succeed.
