The Outreach Ministry of Christ Church is doing great work here in our community of Little Rock! Mr. Kenneth and Mrs. Julia Kollmyer, who are the head ministers of the outreach division of Christ Church, have sought to spread love to all members of our community. Their mission is to spread God’s Word, saying “We are called to go into the highways and hedges and compel men to come to Jesus Christ and to show forth the love of the Father to all people.”
Christ Church Volunteers at Briarwood Nursing and Rehab
A large part of their Outreach Ministry is serving the residents at Briarwood Nursing and Rehab Facility. Both youth and adult members of the congregation have been working with Briarwood for the past four years to spread love and joy with patients and staff members. On every second Saturday of the month Christ Church volunteers visit Briarwood.
“We want to spread joy to the patients and their families to make them feel loved,” says Mrs. Julia Kollmeyer. Christ Church members make a real effort to connect with Briarwood patients through multiple caring activities.

For instance, Christ Church sends worship groups and praise leaders to share the Word of God and to pray with and for patients and staff. During holiday seasons, Christ Church really tries to make the residents feel special by spreading holiday cheer. During Christmas, patients receive goodies such as sweet treats and fruit baskets. They also receive special gifts on Valentine’s Day. Another sweet event is Mother’s Day, when members from Christ Church will give every single mother at Briarwood a rose or carnation.
Mr. and Mrs. Kollmyer have really created something special within the community by starting up this outreach ministry program. The Briarwood Nursing and Rehab patients and staff appreciate the attention they receive from Christ Church just as much as the members of the congregation love to give it! “Christ Church volunteers are very interactive with the Briarwood community. Both our staff and residents love them. Christ Church provides an extra spiritual experience for our patients!” says the Activities Director of Briarwood.
