Canvas Community Church is all about love and acceptance. Their Wednesday night dinner and movie program is nothing short of that.
This is their flagship ministry to the homeless and those in need in the Little Rock community. Doors open at 3:30pm while dinner is served at 6:00pm and doors close at 7:30pm. Throughout the service, guests have the opportunity to socialize, play games, visit the different vendors and get together as a family. Each week there are different vendors who provide various services like blood pressure exams, haircuts, foot exams, hygiene and personal care items, and much more.
Their biggest push is treating homeless individuals as human and providing a safe place for them. “We provide them one less meal to worry about and volunteering helps me be mindful of others humanity,” said Star, a regular volunteer at Canvas. Everything is powered by donations from community partners and individuals.
Canvas Community Church is a staple in the Little Rock community and they have more great things planned for their engagement efforts. Coming soon, they plan to open a new health clinic to help those in need.
Interested in donating items to the homeless ministry at Canvas? Think of warmer clothing, blankets, hand warmers, black trash bags, and personal care items, which are especially needed through the winter months. If you want to attend or volunteer at the Wednesday night Dinner & a Movie event, it takes place every week at Canvas Community, located at 1111 W. 7th St Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
