Islam is a religion that is poorly understood by Americans. The media often portrays extreme interpretations of the faith as if they were shared by all Muslims. In his talk, Dr. Al-Denaway will provide an overview of the basic tenets of Islam held by mainstream Muslims.

Dr. Al-Denawy (PhD, Durham University) is Imam of the Little Rock Islamic Center and Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies at Al-Azhar University. He has translated more than 10 books in a variety of academic fields. He has hosted and appeared on many programs on several TV channels in Egypt. Dr. Al-Denaway also has served as an Arabic-English interpreter at several international conferences.
