Faculty, Staff Exceed Goal for Campus Campaign
In a ringing endorsement of UALR’s mission, faculty and staff of the University reached the 2006 Campus Campaign’s fundraising goal of 45 percent participation, Campaign Coordinator Laura Dobbins announced Monday.
“Just a few short years ago participation in this campaign was 6.5 percent,” Dobbins said. “Faculty and staff know what a strong university means to a community and a region. As a result of their dedication, the faculty and staff have increased the participation rate to 45 percent in 2006 and raised in excess of $1.1 for UALR programs, projects, and scholarships.”
At last week’s UALR Board of Visitors’ meeting, Haskell Dickinson, chair of UALR’s Comprehensive Campaign, said a strong campus giving ethic sends a powerful signal to others in the community that UALR’s programs and people are worthy of support.
