Morley Brothers Honor Judge Dad with UALR Law Scholarship

Steve and Randy Morley, who followed in their father’s footsteps to become lawyers and serve on the North Little Rock bench, honored him today by establishing the Dean R. Morley Pulaski County Law Scholarship at UALR’s William H. Bowen School of Law, Dean Chuck Goldner said.

The $10,000 Morley Scholarship will be awarded each year, beginning in the 2007-2008 academic year, to a student or students who demonstrate a commitment to practicing law in Pulaski County.
Dean Morley served as a district judge in the county during his career, in the same courtroom where his sons have served on the bench. Steve earned his juris doctorate from UALR in 1978. Randy, who earned his undergraduate degree from UALR in 1979, also received his JD from the Bowen School, currently sits on the bench where his father once served. Dean Morley died in 1998.

“The law school is thrilled about the generous decision of the Morley brothers,” Goldner said. “Adding the Dean R. Morley Pulaski County Law Scholarship to our current scholarship program will be a great addition that will highlight service to our very own Pulaski County.”
