Cooper Honors Program Presents ‘Voices from Vietnam’ Oct. 30
UALR’s Cooper Honors Program in English will host “Voices from Vietnam,” a program of poetry and music by Larry Rottmann, author, journalist, photographer, and filmmaker, and by musician Ray Castrey at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at the UALR Bailey Alumni Center.
Rottmann is a Vietnam veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. His works and anthologies include “Voices from the Ho Chi Minh Trail: Poetry of America and Vietnam, 1965-1993,” “Free Fire Zone: Short Stories by Vietnam Veterans,” and “Winning Hearts and Minds: War Poems by Vietnam Veterans.” He also wrote the novel “American Eagle” and has produced several documentaries. His poems, essays, and fiction have appeared in more than 50 books.
The program is free and open to the public, but is for mature audiences. A reception will follow the presentation.
